Tons of school!!

Hello all!

The past two months since my last post have been crazy!!! I had a gig singing at the Madonna Della Cava Feast in the North End of Boston that was truly a blast! I got to meet some really cool people and say hi to others I haven't seen in a while. A lot of people came out which was really great, so thank you so much! :)

I started my final year at Berklee this past month. I have 19 credits, which is unbelievably nuts. I just declared a minor in Drama, so next semester, I'm ready to take a lot of theatre classes! I'm still going to be graduating this May, but now with a double major in Performance and Professional Music and a minor in Drama! Hard to believe I'm going to finish it all in four years!

Last week, I performed at Berklee in a reading of a new musical called "Skindiver" by Nona Hendryx. She was in the group "LaBelle" and sang "Lady Marmalade." I was lucky and blessed to have received Marta, a main character in the musical.

As of right now, I am swamped with school, but to me, it's a good thing. I'm learning so much! Some of my favorite courses so far are Marketing, Taxation in the Music Business (believe it or not), and Eastern Vocal Styles. I'm gathering as much knowledge and skill as I can to help me in the real world!

What I've Been Up To

I haven't posted in quite a while, so I'll let you know what I've been up to!

The Glee Auditions went incredibly well! I got about 30,000 votes!! This past week, I got a mass email from the Glee producer saying they were still reviewing videos.

I finished my Spring semester at Berklee with all A's and a 3.888 GPA! This summer, I am taking three liberal arts classes to speed along my double major to graduate on time. Some of the classes that I've signed up for during the Fall is Eastern Vocal Styles, Intro to Music Business, Taxation in the Music Business, and Principles of Record Production. Most of my classes are geared towards my Professional Music major.

Coming up, I have a gig on August 8th at 5:00pm at the Madonna Della Cava Feast in the North End of Boston. The feast and stage is on Hanover Street. I'm going to be singing solo for an hour, so I hope you all can make it!

What's been going on

I just came home from a private gig tonight, and I have to say, it was a very enjoyable evening. Everyone was very nice and supportive of my singing, and the function itself, was beautiful. It's great coming home with a feeling of accomplishment.

This week, I declared my double major at Berklee; Vocal Performance and Professional Music. Because I've taken so many diverse classes throughout my time at Berklee, I'm able to graduate right on schedule in 2011!

A couple weeks ago, I was involved in a Hope For Haiti benefit in Fitchburg, MA, which donated over $1,000 dollars to Haiti relief funds. I am completely honored to have been in a show that helped the earthquake victims.

As far as upcoming shows go, April 20th from 4:00pm-6:00pm, I will be in the Foundations of Singing with Soul/Motown Concert at the David Friend Recital Hall on the Berklee College of Music Campus (921 Boylston Street, Boston, MA). It's going to be a wonderful night with many talented singers! And it's free! I have many rehearsals this week, for hours on end, so I can say with confidence it will be worth going to!

"A Night for Eric Torvi" is a benefit for a cancer patient. For $30, you can see comedians and singers all for a great cause. (Florian Hall, 35 Hallet Street, Dorchester, MA)

Another show to keep marked in your calendars is the Contemporary Christian Ensemble Show at the David Friend Recital Hall on the Berklee College of Music Campus (921 Boylston Street, Boston, MA). This event is April 28th at 8:00pm and is free to the public.

Hope to see you at one of these performances!
